Mitterand Calls for New Presidential Election

On May 28th, Francois Mitterrand, leader of the parliamentary socialists, issued a statement to the press at Hotel Continental in Paris, the calling for an interim government to replace the “present government, incapable of resolving this crisis” and a presidential election with himself as a candidate.
