La Chinoise Opens in New York City

The latest film by Jean Luc Godard, La Chinoise, opened in New York at Kips Bay Theatre on the lower East Side, April 3rd, 1968.

The following week, on April 11th, it was reviewed in the Columbia Daily Spectator, by Peter Belauskas.   Among cinephiles, there is a legend that Godard's overtly communist radical film may have influenced the Columbia students who seized campus buildings three weeks later.
